Sottotitolato "(Rare and Unrealeased 1961-1991)", l' originale ormai rarissima stampa, pressata in versione vinilica solo in Olanda (non esistono quindi versioni viniliche americane o inglesi), vinile quintuplo, cofanetto in cartoncino rigido textured con barcode, contenente un libretto di 70 pagine a colori con note e foto, e cinque lps ciascuno contenuto in una inner sleeve specifica, etichetta rossa con logo Columbia in bianco in alto, catalogo 468086 1. Pubblicato nel marzo del 1991, giunto al 49esimo posto delle classifiche americane ed al 32esimo di quelle inglesi, l' album ricevette come e' comprensibile un' accoglienza straordinaria da parte della critica e del pubblico piu' attento, contenendo 58 brani, ore ed ore di materiale registrato tra il 1961 ed il 1991 inedito sugli albums ufficiali di Dylan, outtakes o demo, con una qualita' media assolutamente elevatissima, non inferiore a quella di gran parte dei pur storici albums del grand eartista americano. L' operazione ava' quindi piu' di un seguito, con altri "Bootleg Series" pubblicati negli anni a venire.
