Splendida pubblicazione curata dalla Doxy nel 2010, ed ormai molto rara, che mette insieme in una bellissima confezione, una sorta di book in cartone rigido contenente otto albums, ispirata a certi book di 78 giri di ormai arcaica memoria, ben otto albums, ovvero i tre (doppi) volumi delle "Harry Smith Anthology" gia' usciti nel '52 su Folkways in tre distinte pubblicazioni denominate "Ballads", "Social Music" e "Songs", aggiungendo ad essi un quarto volume (anch'esso doppio album) dalla Revenant, denominato "Country Music & Bluegrass", e tratto anch'esso dalla collezione sterminata di Harry Smith, leggendario personaggio americano, dagli interessi innumerevoli che spaziavano dall'esoterismo alla musica, dal cinema d'avanguardia al paranormale che, preso dalla passione per la musica folk americana anteguerra, compilo' i tre volumi della Harry Smith's Anthology grazie alla sua smisurata collezione di 78 giri. Questo progetto illustrava la musica folk americana di varie tradizioni, dalla musica dei bianchi anglosassoni e francofoni a quella degli afroamericani, da quella religiosa a quella mondana, proponendo al pubblico incisioni effettuate principalmente fra il 1927 ed il 1932. Queste tre raccolte (a cui qui se ne aggiunge una imperdibile quarta) hanno una grande importanza perche' hanno contribuito a far conoscere a nuove generazioni di ascoltatori e musicisti tutta la ricchezza dellla musica tradizionale americana, da Blind Lemon Jefferson alla Carter Family, da Mississippi John Hurt a Sleepy John Estes e tutta una serie di nomi ancor meno noti. E' stato messo anche in rilievo da alcuni storici o critici il ruolo propulsivo che le antologie di Smith hanno avuto sulla rinascita della musica folk americana e quindi anche sulla scena del Greenwich Village di New York. I tre volumi sono organizzati in modo tematico ed sottotitolati come segue: ''Ballads'', ''Social music'' e ''Songs''. Il primo volume contiene quindi ballate, molte delle quali tradizionali di origine inglese (child ballads).
